Your reading level, motion setting, last topic and levels you mark complete are stored in this browser. You do not need an account. They are not synced across devices, and clearing browser storage removes them.
Optional usage counts
Usage measurement is off unless you turn it on below. When enabled, this site sends limited events such as starting a topic, changing depth, completing a level, continuing to another topic, or a search with no results. The event data contains the topic and level where relevant; it does not contain your search words, email address or a user identifier.
These counts describe actions, not unique people. You can turn this off at any time. Your reading experience is the same either way.
Feedback and corrections
Choosing “Yes, I get it” or “Not yet” sends that choice with the topic and explanation level to this site's own storage. No account or contact details are requested. “Report a mistake by email” opens your email app with the article and level filled in; you decide whether to send it.
Search stays in your browser
Search matches the catalog locally. It does not send your query to an AI model or search provider. Search words can appear in the page URL, and URLs and connection data may appear in ordinary browser and hosting logs. The optional usage event for an unsuccessful search does not include those words.
Hosting and external sources
The hosting provider handles the connection information needed to serve this website, including network addresses. SmartTLDR's usage counters do not store IP addresses or build visitor profiles. Source links lead to external websites with their own practices.
Reset this browser
Remove local progress, reading and motion preferences and your optional measurement choice. Previously submitted aggregate counts cannot be linked back to this browser and are not removed by this reset.
